About Ryan

Ryan Rogers brings over 30 years of guitar experience and 15 years of pastoral leadership in churches and schools into his teaching.

In August 2026, he is transitioning with his family from Palmer, Alaska to Olympia, Washington where he is launching into this new experience with Rare Joy Music. 

His vision for Rare Joy Music is bigger than just getting paid to teach guitar. He wants to build a life-giving culture and community through his investment in students and his partnerships with schools. 

Ryan enjoys life! Some of his favorite parts of it are family, music, spirituality, running, creative projects, overeating and being outdoors.

Ryan enjoys playing a variety of guitar styles including acoustic fingerpicking, worship, and bluegrass/folk.
